A. SOUTH ZONE

In the last financial year, Biltrax tracked 22 Transport & Sports projects in the South Zone through its BX-1 platform, with an estimated construction cost of 11,650 INR-Crore.

In the South Zone, Karnataka recorded the largest share of construction activity in FY 2024–25, according to BX-1. With 22 projects valued at 11,650 INR-Crore, it accounted for 56.40% of the regional total. The projects include the development of Metro Systems, Sports Facilities, Bus Depots, and other key urban transport & sports infrastructure upgrades. Of the 22 Transport and Sports Infrastructure projects identified in the South Zone, 19 were new developments, while 3 are currently in the implementation stage.

This section highlights the key stakeholders driving Transport & Sports Infrastructure activities in the North Zone during FY 2024-25. It further focuses on major project owners and top contractors leading significant regional developments.

In the South Zone, a mix of government-led and consultancy-driven initiatives shaped the infrastructure landscape. The Chennai Metropolitan Development Authority (CMDA) and the Sports Development Authority of Tamil Nadu (SDAT) spearheaded sports-related developments with moderate project values. Meanwhile, the Airports Authority of India (AAI) drove large-scale aviation infrastructure with over 2.7 Million-SqFt of construction area. Notably, Aarvee Associates had been engaged as a consultant for DPR and feasibility studies. The firm thus guided large-scale transport infrastructure initiatives in the South Zone.

Notably, during FY 2024–25, the South Zone recorded a surge in large-scale infrastructure developments, with several projects crossing the 1,500 INR-Crore investment mark. Transport infrastructure remained at the forefront, led by the SWR Railway Terminal at Devanahalli and the Bangalore Metro Phase 2 Extension, both commanding construction costs of 2,500 INR-Crore each. Urban rail also attracted significant investments, with the KRIDE Bengaluru Suburban Rail Project valued at 1,620 INR-Crore. In addition, the Bangalore Metro Phase 3A was pegged at 1,500 INR-Crore, further strengthening the region’s urban mobility framework. Beyond transport, sports infrastructure gained traction through the ACA Cricket Stadium in Amaravati. The project was budgeted at 800 INR-Crore, underlining the region’s balanced approach to mobility and recreational facilities.


B. CENTRAL ZONE

In the last financial year, Biltrax tracked 7 Transport & Sports projects in the Central Zone through its BX-1 platform, worth an estimated construction cost of 185 INR-Crore.

Of the total projects tracked by BX-1 in the Central Zone during FY 2024–25, Chhattisgarh registered the highest construction value, comprising 3 projects with a combined construction cost of 102 INR-Crore. These accounted for 55.14% of the region’s total. The projects included the development of Sports Facilities, Bus Depots, and other key urban transport & sports infrastructure upgrades. Of the 7 Transport and Sports Infrastructure projects mapped in the Central Zone, 6 were early-stage developments, while the remaining 1 is currently in the implementation stage.

Key Stakeholders in the Central Zone

In the Central Zone, Madhya Pradesh Police Housing & Infrastructure Development Corporation (MPPHC) and Sanjana Construction were actively involved, with two projects each valued at 47 INR-Crore. In contrast, Dee Vee Projects Limited stood out with a single but larger project worth 83 INR-Crore. This project is the NRANVP Sports Complex Phase-I in Nava Raipur, spearheaded by the Naya Raipur Development Authority. Dee Vee Projects is serving as the contractor, while LEA Associates South Asia Private Limited has been appointed in dual roles as both consultant and design architect, with a focus on environmental engineering and architectural design. The project showcases a collaborative approach by combining government ownership, private contracting expertise, and specialized consultancy inputs to deliver a landmark sports infrastructure facility in the region.


B. NORTHEAST ZONE

In the last financial year, Biltrax tracked 16 Transport & Sports projects in the Northeast Zone through its BX-1 platform, with an estimated construction cost of 731 INR-Crore.

Of the total projects tracked by BX-1 in the Northeast Zone during FY 2024–25, Assam led the region with the highest construction value. It comprised 12 projects with a combined construction cost of 335 INR-Crore. These accounted for 45.82% of the region’s total. The projects included the development of Sports Facilities, Bus Depots, and other key urban transport & sports infrastructure upgrades. Of the 16 Transport and Sports Infrastructure projects identified in the Northeast Zone, 15 were in early stages of development, while 1 is currently under construction.

Key Stakeholders in the Northeast Zone

In the Northeast zone, infrastructure activities reflected a strong government push complemented by consultancy expertise. The Public Works (Building & NH) Department (PWD) Assam led the region with 12 projects worth 335 INR-Crore, spanning nearly 1.9 Million-SqFt of built-up area. Supporting this execution drive, Clean Slate Designs and Design Concepts, Gangtok, played key roles in DPR preparation, feasibility studies, and financial modelling. The firms are collectively managing projects valued at 100 INR-Crore with a modest construction footprint. This mix of government-led project delivery and consultancy-driven planning further underscored the zone’s balanced approach to infrastructure growth.

Sports Complex

A key highlight during this period was that Assam was driving a strong push in sports infrastructure through the Public Works (Building & NH) Department (PWD) Assam. Notable projects include the upcoming PWD Sports Stadium in Kokrajhar, a mega facility of over 1.2 Million-SqFt, and the District Stadium in Udalguri spanning 170,000+ SqFt. Alongside these large-scale projects, multiple mini stadiums across Batadroba, Bijni, Majuli, and other towns are planned.  Each of these will have approximately 50,000 SqFt. capacity.

The Indoor Stadium at Mangaldoi further diversifies the portfolio by focusing on indoor sports. This mix of mega and community-level projects reflects Assam’s vision of nurturing both elite and grassroots sports.
