Amit Shah unveils 1,715 INR-Crore projects to transform Assam

Union Home Minister Amit Shah has unveiled development projects worth an estimated 1,715 INR-Crore in Assam. The initiative includes the construction of a 2nd legislative assembly complex, MLA hostels, a sports complex, a wildlife health center, and wetland restoration projects.

Amit Shah laid the foundation for the 2nd legislative assembly complex in Dibrugarh, which is estimated at 284 INR-Crore. The assembly will feature a 3-storey building, a 9-storey MLA hostel, an 800-seat auditorium, and a barrack for security personnel. He also laid the foundation for the second phase of the modern multi-disciplinary sports complex, estimated at 209 INR-Crore. This will include seating for 30,000 people, a central playground, and an athletic track. Furthermore, the Wildlife Health and Research center, with an estimated cost of 292 INR-Crore, will offer clinical and laboratory facilities, an auditorium, a museum, and training units for forest officials and veterinarians.

Lastly, the wetland restoration initiative, worth around 692 INR-Crore, will to enhance environmental resilience in Assam. This project is aimed at restoring and rejuvenating 15 scientifically selected wetlands across 9 districts to reduce urban flood risks. Overall, the initiatives of Amit Shah in Assam are likely to strengthen administrative efficiency, boost sports and environmental facilities, and enhance the region’s development prospects.
