The Andhra Pradesh Cabinet has approved the contract for constructing the Lok Bhavan complex in Amaravati. The decision was taken during a cabinet meeting chaired by Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu on Thursday, December 11. The project will cost an estimated 212 INR-Crore and will come up within the Amaravati Government Complex.
The Amaravati Lok Bhavan will include the Governor’s residence, a durbar hall, the Governor’s office, two guest houses, and staff quarters. The cabinet has authorised the AP Capital Region Development Authority (APCRDA) to finalise the lowest bidder. Moreover, the Amaravati Development Corporation Ltd (ADCL) has been permitted to accept the lowest bidder for related capital‑region works.
The approval was part of a wider set of decisions. The cabinet cleared 44 agenda items covering infrastructure, urban development, and investment proposals across the state.

The AP cabinet also approved the Municipal Administration Department’s proposal for administrative sanction for 506 projects under the State Water Action Plan. These projects will cost 9,514.63 INR-Crore. The remaining 281 projects will be taken up under a lump‑sum system and divided into suitable packages to ensure efficient procurement and execution.
Additionally, the cabinet cleared 14 major investment proposals worth 15,000 INR-Crore under the Industries and Commerce Department. The new investments span solar energy, chemicals, pharmaceuticals, food processing, biofuels, glass manufacturing, women‑led MSME parks, and multi‑product industrial parks. These projects will further generate over one lakh direct and indirect jobs.
