The Andhra Pradesh Government has announced a new plan to support Andhra cities and drive stronger investment as it moves forward with developing eight industrial cities along the state’s major ports. The total estimated investment is 10,523 INR-Crore. The project will follow a Public-Private Partnership (PPP) model and aims to boost economic growth, increase exports, and create employment opportunities.
The development will be implemented under Sagarmala Phase-II, focusing on modern infrastructure, digital systems, and well-planned Special Economic Zones (SEZs) across the coastal region.
Key port-wise investments include:
- Mulapet Port: 6,742.80 INR-Crore
- Machilipatnam Port: 2,089.48 INR-Crore (internal development), 50 INR-Crore each for power and water supply
- Krishnapatnam Port: 1,376.62 INR-Crore
- Ramayapatnam Port: 120 INR-Crore for roads, 50 INR-Crore each for power and water supply
Sectoral clusters planned:
- Visakhapatnam: Marine and pharma cluster (seafood processing, pharma, biotech)
- Rambilli: Defence equipment manufacturing zone
- Machilipatnam: EV and jewellery manufacturing SEZ, auto parts
- Dugarajapatnam: Shipbuilding ecosystem with modular dry docks
- Krishnapatnam: Electronics and clean energy cluster

These initiatives aim to create robust economic corridors along Andhra Pradesh’s coastline, promoting industrial growth and job creation. Moreover, with well-planned industrial clusters and SEZs, Andhra is attracting significant cities investment, which will continue to draw private players and strengthen the state’s trade and industrial development.
