The Andhra Pradesh Cabinet on Monday, December 29, approved a series of Amaravati infrastructure projects, including an estimated 7,387.70 INR-Crore loan from NABARD. The decision marks a major step toward reviving capital development and strengthening the state’s urban framework.
Amaravati Infrastructure Projects
The cabinet sanctioned multiple works in Amaravati, including:
- Award of a contract to the L-1 bidder for construction of a flood pumping station under the World Bank and ADB-financed programme.
- Award of a contract to L&T for construction of the Amaravati Quantum Computing Center (AQCC) buildings.
- Approval of various other works in Zone-8.
- A 1,673 INR-Crore project for underground drainage and sewage treatment in the Mangalagiri-Tadepalli Municipal Corporation area under the Hybrid Annuity Model (HAM).
Land and Institutional Approvals
- Lease of 9.96 Acres in Nuzividu, Eluru district to the horticulture and sericulture department for 33 years to establish the Indian Institute of Plantation Management.
- Renewal of a three-year lease of 9.88 Acres in Katrenikona, Dr BR Ambedkar Konaseema district for Vedanta’s onshore drilling activities.
- Transfer of 28.37 Acres in Daminedu village, Tirupati district to the Sports Authority of Andhra Pradesh for development of a sports city.
Major Infrastructure and Development Projects
- Acquisition of 418.14 Acres in Damavaram village for the Dagadarthi greenfield airport.
- Clearance for a greenfield port and shipbuilding cluster at Duggarajupatnam.
