APMRCL invites 6,250 INR-Crore tenders for Visakhapatnam Metro Phase 1

The Andhra Pradesh Metro Rail Corporation Limited (APMRCL) has floated tenders worth an estimated 6,250 INR-Crore for Visakhapatnam Metro Phase 1. The project will span nearly 46.23 Km across three corridors.

Phase 1 of Visakhapatnam Metro includes 42 elevated stations and a 20.16 Km double-decker flyover-cum-metro viaduct. Corridor 1 will run from Steel Plant Junction to Kommadi. Corridor 2 connects Gurudwara to the Old Post Office. Meanwhile, Corridor 3 links Thatichatiapalem to RK Beach. Construction is expected to finish in 30 months, while the flyover will be completed in 24 months.

Moreover, the Visakhapatnam Metro Phase 1 project follows an Engineering Procurement and Construction (EPC) model. Interested bidders can download tender documents from July 28. Submissions close on September 12.

The project is part of an 11,498 INR-Crore metro plan. It aims to ease traffic and improve urban mobility. The metro will reduce pollution and support sustainable transport. Furthermore, the pre-bid meeting is scheduled for August 12. APMRCL will host it virtually from its Mangalagiri office. A site visit will follow the meeting.
