The Maharashtra Government has approved the construction of a 500-bed specialty hospital by Navi Mumbai Municipal Corporation (NMMC) in Belapur. This upcoming hospital will be developed in phases.
Phase I consists of the construction of a 100-bed facility worth an estimated 250 INR-Crore, which is expected to be completed in 3-4 years. Phase II, estimated at 550 INR-Crore, will include the construction of the medical college and expansion of the hospital from 100 to 500 beds.

The project has received Development Plan approval and Coastal Regulation Zone (CRZ) clearance. The authorities have extended the tender validity and will open the bidding shortly. CIDCO has allotted 32,000 SqFt of land, out of which 22,000 SqFt has received approval for the construction and 10,000 SqFt remains non-developable. This land for the NMMC hospital is located at plot 4, sector 15A, adjacent to the civic headquarters in Belapur.
