Bihar Cabinet clears 9,970 INR-Crore for Ganga Path Projects in Bhagalpur and Munger

The Bihar Cabinet has approved an estimated 9,970 INR-Crore for two major Ganga Path Projects in Bhagalpur and Munger. These Projects aim to improve regional connectivity along the southern banks of the Ganga.

The first corridor will stretch nearly 42 Km from Safiabad in Munger to Sultanganj via Bariyarpur and Ghorghat. It will see an estimated allocation of 5,119.80 INR-Crore. Meanwhile, the second corridor will span 40.8 Km from Sultanganj to Sabour via Bhagalpur, backed by 4,849.83 INR-Crore. Both the Ganga Path Projects will be developed under the Hybrid Annuity Model (HAM).

Additionally, the Cabinet approved nearly 1,047 INR-Crore in supplementary funding for a four-lane bridge and access road over the Ganga. This will further link Bakhtiyarpur to Tajpur on NH-31. Meanwhile, the Ganga Path Projects are expected to boost tourism, trade, and agricultural transport. They will also strengthen connectivity from Seemanchal to the Kosi region.
