Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar has launched an estimated 650 INR-Crore Madhubani infrastructure development initiative. The announcement was made during a roadshow in Laukahi block. The projects span roads, irrigation, tourism, and flood control.
Key highlights include a 178 INR-Crore Road Over Bridge (ROB) between Khajauli and Jaynagar. This aims to ease traffic and improve connectivity. Additionally, 424 INR-Crore will be spent on river revival and flood mitigation. This includes revival work of the Old Kamaladhar and Jeevch-Kamla rivers (264.93 INR-Crore) and construction of four barrages and related structures (161.08 INR-Crore).

The Madhubani infrastructure development also features a 14.53 INR-Crore interstate bus terminal. It will enhance public transport in the municipal area. Moreover, 31.13 INR-Crore has been allocated to develop Phoolhar Sthan temple. This site is believed to be where Lord Ram met Goddess Sita. Furthermore, Nitish Kumar inspected the Janki Mandir redevelopment site in Sitamarhi. That project will be launched separately with an estimated 882 INR-Crore budget. It includes temple renovation and tourism infrastructure.
These efforts align with promises made during the Pragati Yatra. The Madhubani infrastructure development reflects the state’s push for inclusive growth. It supports transport, agriculture, and religious tourism.
