The Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) has unveiled plans for a new elevated road connecting Kurla and Ghatkopar, aiming to ease traffic congestion in the eastern suburbs. Estimated at 1,635 INR-Crore, the 4.24 Km flyover along the LBS Marg will offer commuters a faster and smoother route between the two busy neighborhoods.

Furthermore, the flyover will start from Kalpana Talkies in Kurla’s L ward and extend up to near the Pankhe Shah Dargah in Ghatkopar’s N ward. The main carriageway will cover 3.91 Km, while the landing ramps will be 146 Meters on the Kurla side and 180 Meters on the Ghatkopar side. Additionally, three extra upward and downward arms will span a total of 695 Meters. The elevated road will have four lanes and a width of 16.5 Meters. It will be constructed using steel girders and RCC deck slab superstructures. Officials estimate the project will be completed in about four years, offering commuters a modern alternative to LBS Marg.
