Bondada Engineering Limited has announced that it has received a Letter of Award (LoA) from the Transmission Corporation of Andhra Pradesh Limited (AP Transco) for setting up a 225 MW/450 MWh standalone Battery Energy Storage System (BESS). The project will be developed at the 400/220 kV Hindupur substation in Anantapur district, Andhra Pradesh.
The Bondada Engineering BESS project is valued at an estimated 627 INR-Crore. Moreover, it will be executed under the Build-Own-Operate (BOO) model. The order was awarded by a domestic entity and is scheduled to be completed within 18 months from the receipt of the LoA.

With this project, the cumulative BESS portfolio of Bondada Engineering has reached nearly 1 GWh. The project will further strengthen its presence in India’s grid-scale energy storage segment. Moreover, it will play a critical role in enhancing grid reliability, supporting renewable energy integration, and advancing India’s clean energy transition.
