Cabinet nods 6,969 INR-Crore Barabanki–Bahraich highway project in Uttar Pradesh

The Barabanki–Bahraich highway project has received Cabinet approval for development in Uttar Pradesh. The Government of India approved the project at an estimated cost of 6,969 INR-Crore to improve regional connectivity. The highway will link Barabanki and Bahraich districts and strengthen road infrastructure in the state.

The Barabanki–Bahraich highway project will be implemented on the Hybrid Annuity Mode (HAM). The project involves the development of an approximately 101 Km long 4-lane highway stretch between Barabanki and Bahraich. Out of the total cost, about 3,485 INR-Crore has been allocated for civil construction, while nearly 1,574 INR-Crore will be used for land acquisition. The development will include associated infrastructure such as road widening, pavement strengthening, and safety components.

Once completed, the Barabanki–Bahraich highway project will enhance connectivity in eastern Uttar Pradesh. It will also support faster movement of goods and passengers. Additionally, the project will contribute to regional infrastructure growth and economic development.
