Center approves two road infrastructure projects in Himachal Pradesh worth 1,587 INR-Crore

The Central Government has approved two crucial road infrastructure projects in Himachal Pradesh. These are – a 1,452 INR-Crore tunnel beneath Jalori Jot in Kullu district and a 135 INR-Crore bridge at Brauni Nala on National Highway-5.

The construction of the Jalori Jot tunnel in Kullu will help avoid the snow-blocked routes and increase the convenience of the residents. Meanwhile, the construction of a bridge at Bauni Nala on NH-5 will decrease the threats caused by repeated landslides and ensure a safe route for travel.

Additionally, the Center has approved a total Annual Road budget of 3,667 INR-Crore for Himachal Pradesh for FY 2024–25. This would include the construction, upgradation, and safety work for National Highways across various districts. Further leading to improved safety, connectivity, and tourism.
