Chennai Metro Rail Limited (CMRL) is set to construct a multi-storey office complex at Arumbakkam Station to boost non-fare revenue. The proposed Arumbakkam Station site was chosen for its strategic location and mixed-use potential.
The office complex at Arumbakkam Station will include seven floors, with four dedicated to commercial outlets and three for office spaces. The structure will feature a basement, stilt floor with a four-tier mechanical parking system, and upper levels for retail and workspaces. Additionally, the office complex will span nearly 1,660 SqM behind the existing parking zone on 100 Ft Road. This design supports transit-oriented development and commuter convenience.

Furthermore, CMRL has floated tenders for the project, with construction expected to begin within three months of contract award. The office complex at Arumbakkam Station will also offer food outlets, retail stores, and workplace amenities. It is part of a broader plan to integrate urban infrastructure with metro assets. Meanwhile, similar developments are underway at Ekkatuthangal and Saidapet stations.
