The Chhattisgarh government has initiated a new era of progress in the Bastar region with a massive 52,000 INR-Crore investment and development push. This transformative initiative will redefine the area’s future by focusing on key sectors like infrastructure, healthcare, and agriculture.
Of the total investments, Railway projects alone account for 5,200 INR-Crore. This includes a new Raoghat–Jagdalpur rail line. The Kottavalasa–Kirandul line will also be doubled. These projects will improve transport and trade. On the other hand, a separate 2,300 INR-Crore has been sanctioned for road development. New routes will link all seven districts of Bastar. This will enhance the delivery of government schemes.

On the healthcare front, major investments are coming. A private 350-bed hospital in Jagdalpur will receive a 550 INR-Crore investment. Additionally, Jagdalpur will see a multi-specialty hospital worth 33 INR-Crore, and Navbharat Institute of Medical Sciences will set up a 200-bed multi-super specialty hospital with 85 INR-Crore investment.
This comprehensive strategy, fueled by public and private partnerships, promises a robust future for Bastar. The National Mineral Development Corporation (NMDC) committed a substantial 43,000 INR-Crore. The private sector will bring in an additional 1,000 INR-Crore. This investment will primarily target the services and MSME sectors. The administration is also establishing modern rice mills and food processing units. This includes a notable 8 INR-Crore project by Parshwa Agritech to produce parboiled rice. These investment proposals approved by the Chhattisgarh Government in Bastar will elevate local incomes. They will also create thousands of jobs for youth.
