The Uttar Pradesh Cabinet has approved the Chitrakoot Link Expressway, a 939.67 INR-Crore infrastructure project aimed at enhancing regional connectivity and economic growth. The 15.17 Km, 4-lane expressway will connect Bhartakoot on the Varanasi–Banda route to Ahmedganj village on NH-135BG.
UPEIDA is developing this project under the EPC (Engineering, Procurement, and Construction) model. Furthermore, the Chitrakoot Link Expressway is designed for future expansion to six lanes. It will feature one long bridge, four minor bridges, a flyover, 17 underpasses, and 23 culverts.

The proposed expressway will improve access to Chitrakoot Dham, a major spiritual destination, and link the region to the Bundelkhand Expressway. Moreover, officials expect the project to generate 38 Lakh man-days of employment and stimulate tourism, logistics, and industrial development. So far, nearly 150 out of the required 167 Hectares (Ha) of land have been acquired across 13 villages in Karvi Tehsil. Meanwhile, the detailed project report (DPR) is already prepared. Construction will begin once land acquisition is complete.
