The Chief Minister of Rajasthan has approved two greenfield expressways under the state’s ambitious “Vision 2047” infrastructure roadmap. The first is the 181 Km Kotputli -Kishangarh expressway, and the second is the 342 Km between Beawar and Bharatpur. Both alignments were included in the 2023-24 state budget declaration, which outlined plans to build nine new greenfield expressways, a total of 2,756 Km, with at least five to be finished by 2030.

The Public Works Department (PWD) is currently making arrangements to undertake land acquisition, which will involve both government and private land. Construction tendering is expected to commence towards the end of this fiscal year or the beginning of next year.

When finished, these greenfield expressways will revolutionize regional connectivity in Rajasthan and that of its neighboring states like Haryana, Uttar Pradesh, Gujarat, and Madhya Pradesh. The proposed project will greatly shorten the travel time and make all district headquarters of the state accessible within an hour.
