CMAML floats tender to develop Vadapalani bus depot costing 481 INR-Crore

The Chennai Metro Asset Management Ltd (CMAML) has floated a tender for the development of Vadapalani bus depot with an integrated bus terminal. CMAML is a joint venture between Chennai Metro Rail Limited (CMRL) and Tamil Nadu Industrial Development Corporation. The estimated cost of the said project is 481 INR-Crore. It will develop over the already existing Vadapalani bus depot, which spans over 6.6 Acres on Arcot Road.

The site design provides dual access: one from Arcot Road (24 M wide) for terminal users and another from Kumaran Colony Main Road (12 M wide) for commercial use. There is emphasis on smart circulation, open space reservation (2,801 SqM), and a landscape area of 2,304 SqM. With a multimodal transition hub, this project offers a modern bus terminal at ground level consisting of 5 boarding bays and two alighting bays. Additionally, two basement levels will provide parking facilities for 1,475 two-wheelers and 214 four-wheelers.

Office spaces are from the 1st to the 10th floor. Meanwhile, the 11th and 12th floors are specifically designed for companies working in Animation, Visual Effects, Gaming, and Comics. The dedicated food court and restaurant area provides the customers with a variety of dining options. This project also aims to transform the high-demand urban node into a world-class, multi-use facility.
