ECDS announces 780 INR-Crore Medical Equipment Plant in Ujjain

ECDS has announced plans to set up a medical equipment manufacturing unit in Ujjain, Madhya Pradesh, with an initial investment of 780 INR-Crore. The facility will be the company’s first manufacturing plant in India.

The company will develop the project in a joint venture with three South Korean partners. It has proposed the unit on an anticipated 15.60 Acres of land in the Medical Equipment Park in Vikram Udyogpuri. So far, it has already acquired 1.5 Acres within the park. Construction will begin in 2026. The company plans to commence the first phase of production by April 2027. Initially, the facility will manufacture diagnostic kits. These kits will target diseases such as cancer, kidney disorders, and diabetes.

In addition to the initial investment, ECDS plans to invest another 1,250 INR-Crore within three years of starting production. The company will deploy nanofiber and biomass polymer technologies for advanced medical device manufacturing. Furthermore, the ECDS medical equipment manufacturing unit is expected to generate employment for approximately 500 people during its first phase of operations.
