GMDA plans 5 new flyovers, underpasses along Gurugram metro Phase 2

Gurugram Metro Phase 2 work has started with the addition of five new flyovers and underpasses to reduce traffic congestion. The project cost stands at an estimated 350 INR-Crore and aims to help both metro passengers and road commuters. Moreover, the government has already awarded Phase 1, worth 1,277 INR-Crore, from Millennium City center to Sector 9 to Dilip Buildcon and Ranjit Buildcon.

These flyovers in Gurugram include-

  • A flyover at Sector 3A-4-5 Chowk on Railway Road.
  • An underpass from Railway Road to Sheetla Mata Road in Sector 5.
  • Another underpass from Bajghera Road to Sector 5 at Krishna Chowk
  • A flyover at Rezang La Chowk.
  • An integrated underpass-cum-metro station at Bakhtawar Chowk, earlier approved in Phase 1, will also be executed.

Additionally, an underpass on Old Delhi Road from Sushil Aima Road to Udyog Vihar will be constructed.

The Gurugram Metropolitan Development Authority (GMDA) is preparing detailed designs and documents for the five new flyovers and underpasses. Furthermore, the GMRL will construct the flyover and underpass package, while GMDA will finance it. The State Government has already cleared the plan. Meanwhile, the authorities have started the tendering process and will soon float bids. Besides, the engineers are conducting geotechnical surveys such as soil testing, borehole drilling, and water table analysis.
