Netherlands-based broadband giant GX Group plans a major move in India with an estimated 3,000 INR-crore investment over the next four years. Its new subsidiary, GX Quantum Photonics, will create advanced photonic chips and modules. These will support 5G/6G networks, AI data centers, EV LiDAR, and quantum communication.

The project will be developed in four phases. Initially, Phase 1 involves an investment of 500 INR-crore, highlighting the company’s commitment to building a strong local photonics manufacturing ecosystem in India. The state-of-the-art manufacturing facility is planned in Bhiwadi, Rajasthan, with production of optical units scheduled to start in the first quarter of FY27. This is a key step for India’s tech growth, bringing local manufacturing of data center components.
