Hindalco Industries has announced a 21,000 INR-Crore investment to expand aluminium smelting capacity at its Aditya Aluminium complex in Sambalpur, Odisha. The expansion will add around 3.6 Lakh Tonnes per annum to the existing capacity.

Additionally, Hindalco commissioned a new Flat Rolled Products and battery-grade aluminium foil facility with an estimated investment of 4,500 INR-Crore. These projects form a large-scale industrial push. It can support up to 100 GWh of lithium-ion cell manufacturing. The facility draws its input directly from the FRP complex.
