Hindustan Copper Ltd (HCL) to set up a 400 INR-Crore concentrator plant at Malanjkhand, MP

Hindustan Copper Ltd is planning to set up a new concentrator plant worth an estimated 400 INR-Crore at Malanjkhand in Madhya Pradesh. The development of this plant, with a capacity of 3 Million Tonnes Per Annum (MPTA), is part of the company’s strategy to triple its ore production over the next two to three years.

The construction work for this new facility is expected to start next year. Currently, Hindustan Cooper has a 2.5 MTPA concentrator plant at Malanjkhand. Mecon, a state-run consultancy firm, is preparing a tender document and technical design for the upcoming plant.

The company currently runs concentrator plants at three locations: Malanjkhand in Madhya Pradesh, Ghatshila in Jharkhand, and Khetri in Rajasthan. It plans to triple its ore production capacity from 4 MPTA to 12.2 MPTA by 2030-31.
