IHCL has signed a strategic agreement with the Ambuja Neotia Group to develop 15 new hotels, primarily in India’s northeast and eastern regions. The partnership will expand their joint portfolio to 43 properties, adding over 1,000 rooms to the existing inventory.
The new hotels will include Taj resorts in Darjeeling, Shimla, Rabong, and the Sunderbans, SeleQtions properties in Kolkata and Siliguri, and a Tree of Life in Lataguri. Several Taj-branded villas are also planned in Darjeeling, Sikkim, Lataguri, and Raichak.

This capital-light arrangement allows IHCL to manage the hotels, while Ambuja Neotia will invest up to 2,000 INR-Crore. The projects span greenfield, brownfield, and conversion formats, with completion expected over the next five to six years. This collaboration between IHCL and Ambuja Neotia reflects their shared commitment to unlocking tourism potential in the northeast, while expanding premium hospitality offerings across India.
