Indian Railways approves 647 INR-Crore projects in Gujarat and Bihar

Indian Railways has approved the Gujarat and Bihar projects with an estimated total investment of 647.58 INR-Crore. The approval was announced on Tuesday, March 24. The projects include a Rail-over-Rail (RoR) flyover in Gujarat and a rail bypass in Bihar to improve connectivity and reduce congestion.

The Gujarat component involves construction of a 9.20 Km RoR flyover at Kosamba with an investment of 344.38 INR-Crore. This infrastructure will connect the Kosamba–Umrapada gauge conversion section with the main Mumbai–Vadodara line. Meanwhile, the Bihar project includes a 13.38 Km rail bypass at Bhagalpur with an estimated cost of 303.20 INR-Crore. The bypass will connect key rail sections and reduce congestion at Bhagalpur junction.

Once implemented, the Gujarat and Bihar railways projects will improve network efficiency and enable smoother train operations. The projects will also support capacity augmentation and strengthen regional rail connectivity.
