Jindal (India) gets nod for 3,600 INR-Crore steel project in Odisha

Jindal (India) Ltd has secured approval for an estimated 3,600 INR-Crore greenfield steel plant in Odisha. The High-Level Clearance Authority (HLCA) granted the nod for this strategic investment on Monday, July 7. The facility will be located in Dhenkanal district.

This project by Jindal in Odisha will focus on coated steel products. It will include a Cold Rolling Mill, Galvanizing Line, and Colour Coating Line. These units will produce 9.6 Lakh Metric Tonnes annually. The project is expected to commence by 2027.

Moreover, the company plans to invest an estimated 15,000 INR-Crore in Odisha by 2030. This will happen in three phases. The current project marks the first phase of expansion. The company already operates advanced facilities in West Bengal. With this expansion, it strengthens its eastern footprint.
