The Lucknow Development Authority, on Wednesday, August 13, announced upgrading the city’s Green Corridor. The proposed corridor will connect Baikunth Dham, near Ballu Adda, to Pipra Ghat and Kisan Path. Moreover, the project will cost an estimated 1,002 INR-Crore.

The Lucknow green corridor project would be executed in two stretches. The first stretch, a 4-lane elevated road, would run 2.65 Km from Baikunth Dham to the Cricket stadium nearby. The estimated cost of this stretch is 572 INR-Crore. Furthermore, LDA is currently preparing the detailed project report (DPR) for the project and is re-examining the design for better efficiency.

Meanwhile, the second stretch will start near La Martiniere and span 2.02 Km. It will cross a road over bridge on Gomti’s right bank and continue towards Pipra Ghat via LDA’s G20 Road. The total estimated cost of this stretch would be 430 INR-Crore.

The two upgraded stretches will include intersections and several road-over bridges. They will further improve access points and reduce travel time for commuters. Moreover, these upgrades will benefit people travelling between central and southern Lucknow. Once the alignments are finalised, the authorities will send them for approval, while the state government will approve funding.
