Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu started the second Maha Prakaram works at Venkateswara Temple, Amaravati, marking a major expansion of the sacred complex. The project has an estimated total cost of 260 INR-Crore and is planned in two phases.
Located across an anticipated 25 Acres on the banks of the Krishna River, the temple stands as a strong cultural symbol for Amaravati. The first phase, worth nearly 14 INR-Crore includes a seven-storey Maha Rajagopuram. Additionally, it will include an Arjitha Seva hall, a Glass Mandapam, Vahana and Ratha Mandapams, an Anjaneya Swamy temple, a Pushkarini and cut-stone flooring. The project also features a 92 INR-Crore Prakaram.

The second phase, worth 120 INR-Crore includes Mada streets, approach roads, an annadanam complex, and rest houses for pilgrims and staff quarters. It also features an administrative building, a meditation hall and expanded parking facilities. Meanwhile, the project timeline has not yet been disclosed.
With these expansion works, the government aims to offer a richer, well-organised pilgrimage environment at Venkateswara Temple, Amaravati, reinforcing its importance as a spiritual destination.
