The Meghalaya Government has approved an estimated 265 INR‑Crore road project to link East Khasi Hills and South West Khasi Hills. This project is expected to improve connectivity, reduce travel time, and strengthen regional infrastructure.
The project will include constructing a 47 Km stretch from Phlangwanbroi in East Khasi Hills to Ranikor in South West Khasi Hills. About 27 Km of the road will fall within the Mawsynram constituency. Meanwhile, the remaining 20 Km will run through Ranikor. The tender for the project is expected to be issued this week. Moreover, the road will be built under a regular state scheme and is not funded by the World Bank.
