MMRDA secures 430 Acres in Thane for Mumbai’s largest metro depot

The Mumbai Metropolitan Region Development Authority (MMRDA) has obtained nearly 430 Acres of land in the Mograpada region of Thane district to establish Mumbai’s largest metro depot. The objective is to support the operations and maintenance of 4 metro corridors- Lines 4, 4A, 10, and 11.

All these lines combined create a network of nearly 56 Km, from Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Terminus to Mira Road. The MMRDA has adopted a rehabilitation framework and aims to CIDCOs land acquisition principles.

The Detailed Project Reports (DPRs) for all four lines were prepared by the Delhi Metro Rail Corporation. It recommended a single, integrated metro depot at Mogarpada to enhance efficiency and streamline operations.
