The Madhya Pradesh (MP) Government has signed major power agreements with three private companies to generate and supply 4,000 MW of electricity. The deals, worth an estimated 60,000 INR-Crore, were finalized at Samatva Bhavan, the Chief Minister’s residence in Bhopal.
The agreements were exchanged between MP Power Management Company and Torrent Power Ltd, Adani Power Ltd, and Hindustan Powerprojects Pvt Ltd. The new plants will be set up in Anuppur district under the design, build, finance, own, and operate (DBFOO) model. Under these, Torrent Power will develop 1,600 MW capacity, Adani Power and Hindustan Powerprojects will each add 800 MW. Meanwhile, another 800 MW has been allocated under the greenshoe option. They will further provide direct and indirect employment to nearly 8,000 people.

Together, these MP power agreements will strengthen the state’s energy infrastructure. Torrent Power and Adani Power will invest nearly 24,000 INR-Crore each, while Hindustan Powerprojects will invest 12,000 INR-Crore. Moreover, power supply contracts have been signed with special purpose vehicles formed by the developers, and electricity generation is expected to begin by 2030.
