Nagpur Investments: Adani and Reliance Drive 71,500 INR-Crore Projects

The Maharashtra government has secured two major projects in Nagpur worth a total estimated investment of 71,500 INR-Crore. “Adani Enterprises” will lead with 70,000 INR-Crore for an integrated coal surface gasification and downstream derivatives facility in Kalmeshwar. Meanwhile, Reliance Consumer Products will invest 1,513 INR-Crore in Katol to set up a food and beverage manufacturing facility. These projects are expected to generate approximately 30,500 direct jobs combined.

The land for Adani’s project will be in Linga village, Kalmeshwar, while Reliance’s unit will sit in Katol. The government has set timelines to begin work shortly after clearances. Adani’s facility is projected to take several years to build, though the state aims for early phases of operations by 2027-28. Both projects form part of a wider 1,08,599 INR-Crore MoU deals signed by the state government with multiple companies, covering sectors like IT, warehousing, and logistics.

With strong state support and private participation, these Nagpur investments will transform the city into a leading industrial hub. Among the other MoUs, MGSA Realty will invest 5,000 INR-Crore in warehouses, data centers, and logistics hubs, creating 10,000 jobs. Lodha Developers plans 30,000 INR-Crore for a Green Integrated Data Center Park in Thane, creating 6,000 jobs. Polyplex Corporation will set up a 286 INR-Crore polymeric products unit in Nandurbar, employing 600 people. These investments will strengthen Nagpur’s industrial profile positively, improving infrastructure, employment, and local supply chains.
