Odisha Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi on Monday, January 12, laid the foundation stone for an estimated 3,623 INR-Crore integrated Secretariat & assembly complex in Bhubaneswar. The Odisha secretariat & assembly complex will be developed over an anticipated 71 Acres, combining administrative and legislative functions in one modern hub.
The Odisha secretariat & assembly complex will feature basement parking, advanced security systems, and modern amenities. Additionally, the first phase has a two-year completion deadline, with the detailed project report already prepared. Furthermore, the composite structure will ensure seamless interconnectivity between the Lok Seva Bhawan and Mantralaya.

Inspired by Delhi’s Central Vista, the project is designed to serve the state’s needs for the next 50 years. Moreover, it factors in the likely increase in assembly seats after delimitation. Consequently, the new central hall will accommodate 300 members, compared to the current 147. The complex will also include vertical towers for administrative offices and a single Vidhan Sabha building with a central hall. Overall, the project marks a significant step in strengthening Odisha’s governance infrastructure.
