Prime Minister Narendra Modi inaugurated a series of Chhattisgarh development projects estimated at 14,260 INR-Crore during the state’s 25th-anniversary celebration in Nava Raipur. As part of the initiative, the PM launched 12 new Start-Up Village Entrepreneurship Programme (SVEP) blocks across nine districts.
The PM laid the foundation for a 3,150 INR-Crore Greenfield Highway from Pathalgaon-Kunkuri to the Jharkhand border under the Bharatmala Pariyojana. The new corridor will connect coal mines, steel plants, and industrial hubs in Korba, Raigarh, and Jashpur. Additionally, NH-130D in Bastar and Narayanpur will be upgraded, while NH-130C to the Odisha border will become a two-lane road. These routes will make travel faster, improve trade, and provide better access to healthcare and education in tribal areas.

In the power sector, PM Modi inaugurated the ER-WR Interconnection Project, adding 1,600 MW of transfer capacity. He also launched energy works worth 3,750 INR-Crore, which include new substations, transformers, and feeder lines for rural regions. Nine substations across six districts will ensure reliable power for over 15 Lakh people. Additionally, the 489 Km Nagpur–Jharsuguda Natural Gas Pipeline worth 1,950 INR-Crore, will link 11 districts to the National Gas Grid. The 460 INR-Crore HPCL Petroleum Depot in Raipur will further boost fuel storage and support a cleaner energy supply.
To boost healthcare and industry, PM Modi laid the foundations for five government medical colleges in Manendragarh, Kabirdham, Janjgir-Champa, and Geedam. An Ayurveda College will also be built in Bilaspur. Additionally, two Smart Industrial Areas and a Pharmaceutical Park will come up in Nava Raipur to promote manufacturing and create jobs. These Chhattisgarh development projects mark a major step in the state’s growth, moving towards a modern and self-reliant “Viksit Bharat.”
