Telangana is set to get a major clean‑energy push as Singareni Collieries Company Limited (SCCL) and Altmin sign an MoU to set up India’s first large‑scale battery‑grade lithium refinery in Hyderabad. The project will anchor Telangana’s ambitions in critical minerals and advanced energy storage.

Under this agreement, SCCL will build a 30,000 Tonnes per Annum (TPA) lithium carbonate refinery in Telangana. The project will see an estimated investment of 2,250 INR-Crore. Moreover, the facility aims to start operations by 2027, supporting India’s fast‑growing electric‑vehicle and battery‑storage ecosystem.
