Tamil Nadu approves 7,434 INR-Crore for Infrastructure Projects across state

The Tamil Nadu Government has sanctioned an estimated 7,434 INR-Crore for major infrastructure projects, including highways and bridges. Two government orders were issued to fast-track development across rural and urban regions.

The Rural Development Department will construct 100 high-level bridges at a cost of 505.56 INR-Crore. These bridges were selected from 321 proposed sites based on field inspections and public demand. They aim to reduce travel time and improve access to economic hubs.

Meanwhile, the State Highways Department has allocated nearly 6,929 INR-Crore for upgrading 3,268.53 Km of roads. This includes:

  • 2,091.65 INR-Crore to widen 1,378.36 Km under 619 projects.
  • 1,646.5 INR-Crore to convert 253.46 Km of two-lane roads into four-lane highways.
  • 978 INR-Crore for 19 bypass roads covering 97.31 Km.

Additionally, funds will support industrial corridors, district-level infrastructure, and road safety measures. These infrastructure projects reflect the commitment of Tamil Nadu to inclusive growth and improved connectivity.
