Tamil Nadu secures 22,795 INR-Crore in tourism investments at Global Summit 2026

Tamil Nadu strengthened its tourism economy at the Global Tourism Summit 2026, securing investment commitments worth an estimated 22,795 INR-Crore. These Tourism Investments are expected to generate nearly 66,000 jobs across Tamil Nadu.

A total of 127 MoUs were signed during the two-day event. Among the key initiatives was the creation of a 100 INR-Crore special area development authority for Mamallapuram to build world-class tourism infrastructure. Additionally, the Chief Minister unveiled a SIPCOT-led programme to identify and develop tourism hubs across Tamil Nadu.

Several large-scale proposals featured prominently. Avid Sports Holdings committed 6,200 INR-Crore to develop a multi-purpose sports stadium, to create 1,500 jobs. Mayakadal Adventures proposed 283 INR-Crore for astro-tourism projects in Ramanathapuram. Kodai Heights announced plans for a 300 INR-Crore luxury hotel in Dindigul district.

Moreover, Imagicaa World signed an MoU worth 650 INR-Crore for a theme park. Vietnam-based Vingroup will establish VinWonders amusement parks and a luxury hotel in Tamil Nadu. Separately, the Amritanandamayi Mandir Trust proposed a 75 Acres heritage and cultural complex near Mahabalipuram with an investment of 328 INR-Crore.

Highlighting ongoing efforts, the Chief Minister noted that Tamil Nadu has already invested 612 INR-Crore in tourism over the past five years. Together, these Tamil Nadu Tourism Investments showcase the state’s strategy to combine infrastructure development with global partnerships. They reinforce Tamil Nadu’s position as one of India’s leading tourism destinations.
