The National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) has officially invited tenders for the construction of a 4-lane highway on the Mokama-Munger green alignment (NH-33). This marks a significant milestone in Bihar’s infrastructure development. This strategic project is expected to enhance regional connectivity and streamline travel across key districts.
The Mokama-Munger green alignment highway spans a total length of 82.40 Km with an estimated cost of 2,243.16 INR-Crore. Moreover, the construction is slated to be completed within 29 months. Interested agencies must submit their tenders by the deadline of September 10, 2025. Following its completion, the highway will be maintained under a 15-year post-construction agreement, ensuring long-term upkeep and operational efficiency.

Meanwhile, a notable segment of the highway—approximately 14 Km—will be integrated with the Raxaul-Haldia Expressway. This will further strengthen Bihar’s transport grid. Land acquisition for the greenfield alignment is already underway, with the government aiming to finalize the construction agency within two months.
