The Tamil Nadu State Highways Authority (TNSHA) has floated international tenders for the estimated 2,100 INR-Crore Thiruvanmiyur Uthandi elevated corridor. This marks the state’s longest flyover initiative to date. Spanning nearly 14.2 Km along the East Coast Road (ECR), the 4-lane corridor will run from Tidel Park to Uthandi.

Designed under the Hybrid Annuity Model (HAM), the Thiruvanmiyur Uthandi elevated corridor blends EPC and BOT frameworks to ensure timely execution and long-term viability. Moreover, the corridor will feature a width of 16–20 Meters, vertical clearance of 5.5 Meters, and pedestrian pathways. It will also include exit ramps at key junctions such as LB Road, Thiruvanmiyur RTO, Neelankarai, Injambakkam, and Akkarai.

Once completed, the Thiruvanmiyur Uthandi elevated corridor will reduce travel time to 15–20 minutes. This will further benefit commuters heading toward Mamallapuram, Puducherry, and Cuddalore. Furthermore, it will ease pressure on the OMR by offering an alternate route from Adyar to Kelambakkam, Thiruporur, and Mambakkam.
