Uttar Pradesh clears 583 INR-Crore drinking water projects for Bareilly and Kanpur

The State Government has approved two key water projects to boost ongoing Uttar Pradesh infrastructure efforts. Together, these projects will cost an estimated 582.74 INR-Crore. These developments aim to expand drinking water supply networks in Bareilly and Kanpur. The Bareilly Phase-1 reorganisation project is valued at 265.95 INR-Crore, while Kanpur’s pipeline expansion project will require 316.79 INR-Crore.

The Bareilly project will upgrade the water network in over 92% of the city, helping nearly 9 Lakh people. It includes funding from the Government of India, the state government, and the Bareilly Municipal Corporation. Meanwhile, the Kanpur project will supply clean drinking water to all residents in the East and South service districts, covering 33 wards. Overall, both projects will improve water services and strengthen urban infrastructure across their municipal corporation areas.

Overall, these approvals show the state’s strong focus on reliable and sustainable water access. The Uttar Pradesh water projects will improve daily living conditions, expand safe drinking water supply, and strengthen urban infrastructure. Alongside this, the government is also setting up new District Disability Rehabilitation Centers across all 18 divisions, supporting its goal of inclusive growth and better public services.
