Vishnusurya Projects and Infra Ltd has clinched an estimated 2,217 INR-Crore contract to develop a 60 MLD seawater desalination plant in Mullakadu, Tuticorin. The company received the order from the State Industries Promotion Corporation of Tamil Nadu (SIPCOT). Moreover, the project is a strategic initiative to support SIPCOT’s upcoming semiconductor and green hydrogen industrial park.
The plant will be delivered under the Hybrid Annuity Model (HAM) through a public-private partnership. Vishnusurya leads the consortium, which includes JWIL Infra Ltd and IDE Technologies India Pvt Ltd – an arm of Israel-based IDE Technologies.

The scope includes six months for pre-construction conditions, 30 months for construction, and a 15-year operation and maintenance period. The desalination facility by Vishnusurya Projects is expected to ensure uninterrupted water supply for strategic industries. Moreover, it will reduce pressure on freshwater sources, and support Tamil Nadu’s green industrial ambitions.
