Waaree Energies to develop 10 GW solar ingot and wafer factory in Nagpur

Waaree Energies Limited has announced plans to develop the Nagpur solar ingot wafer factory in Maharashtra. The project will establish a large integrated manufacturing facility for solar ingots and wafers with a production capacity of 10 GW. The company disclosed the development through a regulatory filing.

The facility will be developed across 300 Acres and will require an estimated investment of 6,200 INR-Crore. Furthermore, the development will include advanced manufacturing infrastructure, utilities, and supporting industrial facilities required for large-scale photovoltaic component production.

Once operational, the Nagpur solar factory is expected to support India’s solar manufacturing capacity. It will also reduce reliance on imported photovoltaic components. The project will also strengthen the renewable energy supply chain and support the country’s expanding solar power sector.
