385 INR-Crore sanctioned for infrastructure expansion of TN Central University

The Ministry of Education has approved an estimated 385.27 INR-Crore investment for a comprehensive infrastructure upgrade at the TN Central University (CUTN) in Tiruvarur. The funding, routed through the Higher Education Financing Agency (HEFA), is set to transform the university’s academic, residential, and research capabilities.

Key components of the expansion include:

  • Residential quarters for faculty and staff across all categories (62.97 INR-Crore)
  • A state-of-the-art academic building with an outlay of 96.40 INR-Crore
  • Two 300-bedded hostels for girls and boys, sanctioned at 46.63 INR-Crore and 46.91 INR-Crore, respectively
  • A 400-bedded research scholars’ hostel costing 42.60 INR-Crore
  • A Scientific Instrumentation Center (19.95 INR-Crore) and procurement of advanced research equipment (16.84 INR-Crore)
  • Expansion of the administrative building (46.16 INR-Crore)
