The Tamil Nadu Cabinet on Monday, February 23, approved incentives for 46 new and expansion projects with a combined committed estimated investment of 31,592.39 INR-Crore. The approvals aim to expand manufacturing, aerospace, semiconductors, electronics, renewable energy and defence sectors across the state. The projects are expected to generate more than 61,500 jobs.
The Tamil Nadu project incentives cover a diverse set of industrial developments. Sakthi Aircraft Industry will build aircraft trainer components assembly and maintenance facilities. NMB-Minebea to establish semiconductor manufacturing units. Yield Engineering Systems will build semiconductor equipment production facilities. Meanwhile, Electronics makers, including Dixon Group and SFO Technologies, received clearance for new manufacturing units. Additionally, Vikram Solar plans renewable energy storage system assembly operations.

Other approved projects include critical industrial and defence manufacturing investments. Festo will establish armoured vehicle production and industrial automation equipment facilities. Aequs Group will also invest in aerospace component manufacturing infrastructure. Schneider Electric will build cooling systems production units. Moreover, Bharat Biotech will develop a life sciences park. An advanced aerospace research and development center by Boeing is also part of the package. Saint-Gobain will invest in glass manufacturing facilities.
The incentives enable land allotments, tax benefits and clearances to accelerate project implementation. The Tamil Nadu Cabinet will channel investments across Chennai, Chengalpattu, Kancheepuram, Tiruvallur, Villupuram, Tiruvannamalai, Krishnagiri, Namakkal, Perambalur, Theni, Dindigul, Karur, Tiruppur, Salem, Coimbatore and Thoothukudi. The state government also aims to promote regional industrial growth beyond the metropolitan area through these projects.
