The Odisha Government has signed a Memorandum of Cooperation (MoC) with ACME Group and Japan’s IHI Corporation for multiple industrial projects with an estimated cumulative investment of 67,000 INR-Crore. The agreement aims to promote collaboration in clean energy, advanced manufacturing, and industrial development across the state. According to the Industries Department, the proposed projects are expected to generate employment for around 7,000 people.
The proposed developments include a 0.4 MTPA green ammonia project at Gopalpur–Tata SEZ with an investment of 20,000 INR-Crore. The project also includes a jetty-less floating terminal infrastructure with an additional investment of 1,000 INR-Crore. Further, the partners have proposed a 0.8 MTPA green ammonia project at Paradip with an investment of 34,000 INR-Crore. The project carries an employment potential of 3,600 people. Additionally, the collaboration includes a methanol project with an investment of 12,000 INR-Crore.

The Odisha Japan-backed projects will strengthen the state’s clean energy and industrial ecosystem. Furthermore, the collaboration will support technology transfer and advanced manufacturing through Japanese participation. The projects are also expected to create opportunities for MSMEs, ancillary industries, and local enterprises while expanding Odisha’s industrial infrastructure.
