The Haryana Government has approved 712 drinking water, sewerage and stormwater drainage projects with a total investment of 2,534.39 INR-Crore for FY 2026–27. The approvals were granted during the 59th meeting of the Haryana Water Supply and Sewerage Board (HWSSB). The projects aim to strengthen civic infrastructure across the state. They will improve access to safe drinking water, expand sewerage networks and upgrade stormwater drainage systems in urban and rural areas.
The approved projects include 69 urban water supply schemes worth 603.32 INR-Crore for Bahadurgarh, Dharuhera, Jhajjar, Narnaul, Rewari and Kurukshetra. Additionally, 18 urban sewerage projects worth 526.49 INR-Crore will cover Bahadurgarh, Jhajjar, Narnaul, Rewari, Kurukshetra, Jagadhri and Rohtak. The government has also cleared two stormwater drainage projects worth 19.11 INR-Crore for Ellenabad and Bawani Khera. Meanwhile, rural infrastructure accounts for a major share of the investment. The state has approved 603 rural water supply augmentation and improvement schemes worth 1,108.28 INR-Crore. The scope includes tubewell installation, canal-based waterworks, new boosting stations and replacement of ageing pipelines. Further, the government has approved 13 Mahagram sewerage projects worth 203.58 INR-Crore and three Mahagram water supply schemes worth 71.58 INR-Crore.

The Haryana drinking water projects are expected to strengthen water management infrastructure across the state. Furthermore, the projects will improve water supply coverage and sewerage services in both urban and rural areas. The state has also set a target to increase urban water supply coverage from 90% to 93% by March 31, 2027. The approved projects are expected to support long-term improvements in Haryana’s civic infrastructure.
