Green Park International Stadium in Kanpur will undergo a major redevelopment in three phases, costing around 250 INR-Crore. UPCA has planned the project to increase seating from 27,400 to 50,000. The association aims to restore the stadium’s original charm through this large-scale redevelopment.
The project team will demolish the old C and D balconies. In their place, a new three-storey VVIP gallery will come up. This structure will include seating for 15,000 spectators, including 500 VVIP seats. Additionally, the new layout will help boost the overall viewing experience. After finalising the DPR, the work will start in the off-season to avoid match disruptions.

Moreover, Green Park International Stadium includes several key upgrades. Authorities will rename galleries after former cricketers, similar to the approach taken in Delhi and Mumbai. UPCA will present the final plan during the annual general meeting in late September. Once the team gets DPR approval, the redevelopment will begin without delay.
