The Thane Ring Metro project is progressing with a revised investment of around 12,200 INR-Crore. The project spans approximately 29 Km and will include 22 stations. Additionally, Maharashtra Metro Rail Corporation has invited bids for the construction of 8 of these stations worth an estimated 452.14 INR-Crore.
The stations proposed in the current phase are Manpada, Dongripada, Vijay Nagri, Waghbil, Waterfront, Patlipada, Thane Junction, and New Thane. 6 stations will be elevated, while 2 will be underground. The underground stations will cost around 223.70 INR-Crore. The 6 elevated stations will require about 228.44 INR-Crore. MahaMetro has set a construction timeline of 5 years for underground stations and two and a half years for elevated stations.

The Metro corridor project will bring significant benefits to Thane while strengthening connectivity with Mumbai Metro Lines 4 and 4A and Metro Line 5 towards Bhiwandi. The project will also support economic activity and improve access to jobs and services.
