In the age of experience, hospitality design has moved far beyond aesthetics. According to Ar. Anil Badan, every hotel functions as a spatial narrative where proportion, light, material, and movement shape how a guest feels within it.

Planning as the Foundation of Hospitality Design
According to Ar. Badan, design begins with planning. The alignment of axes, clarity of circulation, and seamless integration of public and private realms determine whether a space feels intuitive or disjointed.
Back-of-house efficiency, structural logic, and service movement are not secondary considerations. Instead, they are fundamental design decisions that directly influence the quality of experience. Therefore, these elements form an essential part of hospitality design.
Materiality in Hospitality Design
Materiality plays a defining role in hospitality design. According to Ar. Badan, materials must age gracefully and respond to climate, context, and touch.
For instance, natural stone, wood, textured surfaces, and carefully modulated lighting create depth without excess. Furthermore, design must engage the senses quietly through scale, acoustics, and tactility.

Technology, he notes, must be designed and not merely installed. Controls, lighting systems, and environmental responses should feel effortless and embedded within the architecture. Technology must support the spatial experience rather than dominate it.

In this project, Studio B Architects shaped the experience through spatial layering, contextual sensitivity, and disciplined detailing. Additionally, every line, junction, and proportion was carefully considered. Consequently, the team created a cohesive environment where design itself becomes the primary medium of hospitality.
