Saatvik Solar signs MoU with Odisha Govt to set up 3.6 GW solar cell plant

Saatvik Solar Industries has signed an MoU with the Odisha Government to set up a 3.6 GW solar cell plant at Gopalpur in Ganjam district. The agreement was signed with Industrial Promotion and Investment Corporation of Odisha (IPICOL) and is part of the company’s broader manufacturing expansion in Odisha.

The Saatvik solar cell plant will complement the firm’s Phase I facility at Gopalpur. This includes 2.4 GW of solar cell and 4 GW of module manufacturing capacity. Construction and major infrastructure work for Phase I are complete, while equipment installation, testing, and validation are underway. A dedicated 220 kV substation is ready for charging, and manufacturing lines are in the final stages of installation.

The company said the cell line ramp-up will begin shortly, with ALMM-II inspection planned for September. The Phase II expansion, which includes the new 3.6 GW Saatvik solar cell plant, is targeted for commercial production by FY28.
